Fresh sounds: First Beige feat Allysha Joy – Sudden Weight

Brisbane-based band First Beige presents their new track Sudden Weight featuring astonishing Allysha Joy.

The infectious new track is jam-packed with syncopated rhythms, jazzy undertones, and prominent house grooves and vocal harmonisation, combining to create the funky dance floor rhythms that are quintessentially First Beige. Featuring guest vocals from powerhouse Allysha Joy (30/70), this track offers another triumphant chapter in the bands' ever-evolving catalog of infectious tunes.

Speaking on the track’s production, Oscar of First Beige shares, Sudden Weight was one of those songs that took a few years to fully find its feet. I began writing the instrumental a few years ago at my parents’ house and spent ages trying to come up with something that was super grooving and melodic that could be interesting on its own. The track got put on the backburner for a while. A year or so later David Versace and I had moved onto the same street. Allysha was in town and had come around to collab on some solo stuff and after they finished, we played her the demo for 'Sudden Weight'. It was super special to see her work and we watched in awe as she laid down all these crazy harmonies and came up with the lyrics on the spot. We’re all huge fans so that was such a moment for us.
