Skip Marley and H.E.R. performed “Slow Down” on The Tonight Show
Skip Marley and H.E.R. performed their lover’s rock reggae tune “Slow Down” on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, with help of house band The Roots.
The duo released “Slow Down” in January along with a tender music video directed by Lacey Duke. Although Marley and H.E.R. first premiered the song during a show at the Hollywood Bowl with Lauryn Hill in October.
“When I made the song, I was looking and wondering who could be a feature and then I thought of H.E.R. because I love her vibe and her energy really, As soon as I heard the completed track I was in love” Marley commented to press.

Marley is the son of Cedella Marley from The Melody Makers, and grandson of Bob Marley. In 2015, he released his first single, “Cry to Me”, and a second single called “Life” under the Tuff Gong label, and joined his uncles Damian and Stephen on their Catch a Fire tour. Marley released his debut single under Island Records, “Lions”, in February 2017. He is featured on, and co-wrote, Katy Perry’s 2017 single “Chained to the Rhythm”. Skip has released several singles over the past year, including his solo track “Enemy,” “That’s Not True” featuring his uncle, Damian “Jr Gong” Marley, and his Major Lazer collaboration “Can’t Take It From Me.”
H.E.R. received recently five nominations at the 2020 Grammy Awards ceremony, where she released one of her first new singles of the year, “Sometimes.” She won two Grammy at the 2019 show, including best R&B album for her debut H.E.R. Last week, she released her latest single, the sentimental acoustic song titled “Comfortable”.
