Blue Note Records and Decca shared an Ezra Collective new version of Wayne Shorter’s track “Footprints”.

Blue Note Records and Decca shared an Ezra Collective new version of Wayne Shorter’s track “Footprints” from the forthcoming compilation “Blue Note Re:Imagined”. This album contains a number of top young British musicians covering tracks from the phenomenal back catalog of iconic jazz label Blue Note Records.

"Footprints" was first released in 1967 on “Adam’s Apple”, Shorter’s tenth album as a leader and seventh for Blue Note Records, which featured Wayne Shorter on tenor saxophone, Herbie Hancock on piano, Reggie Workman on bass, and Joe Chambers on drums. The song was recorded again the same year by the Miles Davis Quintet on the album “Miles Smiles”, which featured both Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock, and bassist Ron Carter, and drummer Tony Williams.

Blue Note recently shared with us Jorja Smith's cover of St. Germain song “Rose Rouge” from the same LP.

From our blog: Jorja Smith's cover of St. Germain song “Rose Rouge” is a leading single from the new album “Blue Note Re:Imagined”.
