“It’s beautifully simple – in each episode I sit down and talk with a close friend of mine, we shoot the breeze about music, life, cars, food, wine, whatever…” – Gregory Porter
Gregory Porter – The Hang debuted 8th of August. Porter’s first guest was Jeff Goldblum. The actor has a side gig as a jazz pianist and once backed Porter on The Graham Norton Show. In fact, Goldblum says in the podcast, that appearance with Porter helped his band land a recording contract in 2018.
In total, The Hang will feature 10 episodes released over as many weeks. Gregory Porter will host other jazz musicians like Jeff Goldblum, Kamasi Washington or Jamie Cullum, but also guests include singer Annie Lennox of the Eurythmics, filmmaker Amma Asante, and actress and filmmaker Charlotte Gainsbourg.
The Hang is available on all podcasts platforms.
Gregory Porter started his career in 2010 with his debut album Water, which earned him a Grammy. Two years later he released Be Good and the world started to take notice of his blend of jazz, gospel, and soul. 2013’s Liquid Spirit earned even more accolades as well as the 2014 Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album. His last album from 2017 was Nat ‘King’ Cole & Me with interpretations of Nat King Cole’s songs.
