Skalpel, ambassadors of electrified polish jazz released “Escape” reinterpreted by great pianist Hania Rani. After the success of the excellent album "Highlight", Skalpel announces "Escape EP" with interpretations of one of the best compositions from this album. The first announcement of the digital release is a remix by the greatest discovery of the Polish scene in recent years - Hania Rani. It's intimate, extremely focused interpretation reverberates with the clear sound of the piano, which beautifully contrasts with the disturbing drone ambient.

Skalpel is a duo comprised of Marcin Cichy and Igor Pudło, Polish nu jazz DJs, musicians and record producers, , from Wrocław, Poland. Their musical style is a distinctive blend of hip hop beats, laced with samples lifted from the rich seam of Polish jazz records of the 1960s and 1970s. This year Skalpel, return after a six-year hiatus with a new LP. The pair's fourth album "Highlight" was released on March 20th via Nopaper Records / ! K7

Hania Rani is a talented Polish pianist, composer, and musician. Rani has released two solo albums so far - "Esja" (2019) and "Home" (2020). Recently, the artist has also been working on the music for the film “As far as possible”, directed by Piotr Domalewski. Her debut album "Esja", a beguiling collection of solo piano pieces on Gondwana Records was released to international acclaim on April 5th, 2019. She presents her new music at the new album "Home", which is very much a continuation of the work she started on "Esja", with added vocals, rhythm section, and subtle electronics.

Hania Rani won four Fryderyk Awards for 2019 - the most important prize in the Polish music industry - in 4 categories: Best Composer, Best Phonographic Debut, Best Alternative Album, Best New Performance (with Mela Koteluk).
