The Wicked Sound premiere: you can stream now debut album from new Brighton’s jazz outfit Barnacles!
Incredible power of horns. Another great band on the musical map of Brighton. Barnacles are lead by Leroy Horns from UK dub collective The Resonators. The music of the band is very melodic, heavy and danceable at the same time. Fans of Shabaka Hutchings, Theon Cross, Nubya Garcia and Ill Considered shouldn’t be disappointed. They launch their debut album tomorrow 10th of October at The Rose Hill in Brighton.
This five-piece UK Jazz band, consisting of just horn section and drums, combine the energy and intensity of dance music with the spontaneity and freedom of a live group. Having no chordal instrument, results in a no safety net, nowhere to hide, raw and untempered ride.
