‘A Great Day In London’ will see Tomorrow’s Warriors celebrating a seismic moment in UK jazz with the greatest London ‘Jazz Happening’ in a generation, featuring an exclusive VIP afterparty, guest DJs and the hottest Warriors jam ever, with further details and lineup to be announced.

Inspired by Art Kane’s 1958 iconic photo essay, A Great Day in Harlem, (which captured 57 of the greatest jazz musicians of the time), Tomorrow’s Warriors creates a once in a lifetime gathering of Warriors from across its 30-year history, to recognise the achievements of an exhilarating generation of musicians. In addition to an evening of incredible live music, the organisation will gather over a hundred musicians from its current Warriors and illustrious alumni for a photograph to document this momentous occasion.

Gary Crosby OBE, Tomorrow’s Warriors co-founder and Artistic Director, explains “This fitting headline to Tomorrow’s Warriors 30th anniversary year celebrates a glorious moment in our collective musical history, and proudly shines a light on the epic journeys of Warriors musicians. The original image of ‘A Great Day In Harlem’ by Art Kane documented a moment in time of a burgeoning scene, and the parallel we see today in UK jazz is undeniable. It will be magical to bring our Warriors family together in homage to this iconic image and document our 30th anniversary milestone at the same time! It will be an unmissable and joyous occasion and your support will help us raise funds to protect and develop the next generation of outstanding jazz talent.”

Tomorrow’s Warriors has provided a crucial development platform for many of the artists now tearing up the international jazz scene – Moses Boyd, Nubya Garcia, Cassie Kinoshi and Nérija, Femi Koleoso and Ezra Collective, Binker Golding, Shabaka Hutchings and Sons Of Kemet, Cherise, Eska, Denys Baptiste, Soweto Kinch, Zara McFarlane and many more.
