Fresh sounds: Bo!led – Blue Room
Italian contemporary jazz quartet Bo!led shared new song Blue Room from the band’s forthcoming debut album Different, Us, coming out on 11th of November via Beat Machine Records.
Bo!led is the 4-piece group that has come out of the most contemporary jazz scene in Milan, which brings together the use of electronics and instrumental to the vibrant nature of the multicultural generation. The first release Different, Us captures the experiences of the 4 artists thriving in this context; Bo!led epitomised their sound in a genuine and moody mini-album that easily recalls the expansive blend of jazz and hip hop of Badbadnotgood as well as the rawness of the UK jazz scene.
The band features Matteo Castiglioni on keys and synth, Maurizio Gazzola on bass, Amedeo Nan on guitar, and Andrea Gamba (Daykoda) on drums and electronics. Blue Room does the trick: bouncy bassline, sparse drums and the exotic feel take the groove to an impromptu jam session in the backyard of a familiar location.
Listen to Boiled new single Blue Room from the band forthcoming debut album Different, Us:
BO!LED are a young quartet that contaminates jazz with the most modern sound of contemporary electronic music, winking at the new UK and Chicago jazz scene, creating unconventional and dynamic textures. Born in 2019, the project developed quickly experimenting with new sounds balanced between acoustic and electronic. During the summer of 2020, the group recorded their first studio recording project, which will soon see the light of day. Theirs is an energetic, fresh live where drums, guitar, bass and synths dialogue in unison with samplers and electronic components, creating an engaging and fascinating atmosphere at the same time. They are Winners of the second edition of the Jam The Future, music for a new planet contest – VOLVO and JAZZMI’s project dedicated to young jazz promises.
