Nick Walters & The Paradox Ensemble released new single “The Underdog” on his new label D.O.T. Records.
Nick Walters & The Paradox Ensemble released new single “The Underdog” on his new label D.O.T. Records. The song is promoting the new album “Implicate Order”, third as a Nick Walters & Paradox Ensemble. This 11-piece band continues to break the mould of big band jazz, combining spiritual and eastern jazz moods with West African rhythms and a fusion of electronics. “Implicate Order” follows up the band's highly acclaimed “Awakening” released on 22a in January 2019, and their debut EP “Entanglement” released of Efpi Records in 2013.
Nic Walters is a member of many musical projects: Paradox Ensemble / Ruby Rushton / Riot Jazz Brass Band / Beats & Pieces Big Band / Afrospot Allstars. He released in January 2020 his delightful solo album “Active Imagination”, and two double singles with his bandmates in Ruby Rushton “Yardley Suite / Overture 1” in January 2020, “Sun Khosi / Chrysalis" in May 2020. We can also hear his trumpet on Tenderlonious “Quarantena” album, also released this year on 22a.

Listen below to Nick Walters & The Paradox Ensemble new song “The Underdog”, the new single from their forthcoming album “Implicate Order”:
Paradox Ensemble was formed in 2013 by trumpeter Nick Walters bringing together some of his closest musical collaborators from various projects he was involved in. After a debut release entitled 'Entanglement' on Efpi Records and several gigs around the country, the project has lied dormant for a few years, before returning in 2018 with the album “Awakening”, released on 22a in January 2019.
The band features some familiar faces such as Ed Cawthorne (aka Tenderlonious) on tenor sax and flute, Aidan Shepherd (Ruby Rushton) on accordion, Sam Healy (Skeltr, Beats & Pieces Big Band) and of course the incomparable Nick Walters (Ruby Rushton & Riot Jazz) on trumpet and synths.
Nick Walters & The Paradox Ensemble new album “Implicate Order” will come out on 29th January 2021, via on new label D.O.T. Records.
