Tenderlonious announced a new LP “Quarantena” with the same-titled first single. London’s multi-instrumentalist and prolific producer spend his time during the lockdown in his home studio playing his vast collection of synths, drum machines, and instruments he’s built up over the past twenty years. Armed with an arsenal of hardware and inspired by sci-fi & fantasy movies, he has delivered a soundtrack to his quarantine.

“When COVID-19 hit the UK back in March this year the music game changed almost overnight - no more gigs, no more studio sessions with the band, many music stores and outlets shutting up shop. This drastic change offered plenty of time for reflection, opening up a new portal of exploration”, we can read in the album press release.

“Quarantena” is fusing genres from house to boogie and ambient jazz with his signature jazz instrumentation on ﬂute, featuring also his fellow Ruby Rushton bandmate Nick Walters on trumpet.

Tenderlonious was extremely busy this year. He started 2020 with a release of new Ruby Rushton double single “Yardley Suite / Overture 1”, then he put out a solo electronic EP “After The Storm” in April. In May he came out with another two-track 7" single “Sun Khosi / Chrysalis" with his bandmates from Ruby Rushton.

Later some month Jazz Detective released “Tender plays Tubby”, an EP with re-interpretation of four classic Tubby Hayes track. June brings us another Tenderlonious EP, this time with Pakistani instrumental quartet Jaubi and Marek Pedziwiatr (EABS, Bloto), called “Tender in Lahore". All records except “Tender plays Tubby” came through his own imprint 22a Records. In the meantime, he took his part in recording Coldcut’s Keleketla Project.
