Song of the Day: FKJ – Us – Colors Show

French multi-instrumentalist FKJ performed on the COLORS show his new single Us, off his new album V I N C E N T.

Vincent Fenton—aka FKJ, which stands for French Kiwi Juice—first introduced the world to his intricate compositions on his EPs Time For a Change (2013) and Take Off (2014). Since then, the self-taught musician has released two brilliant projects: his debut album French Kiwi Juice (2017) and his 2021 EP Just Piano. Earlier this year, Fenton released his sophomore album V I N C E N T, a collection of songs that encapsulate his genre-fluid and elaborate style. Standouts include Greener (with Santana), Way Out, and A Moment of Mystery (ft. Toro y Moi).

For COLORS, FKJ creates a moment of magic with a live performance of ‘Us’, which also features on V I N C E N T. Bringing his signature live looped setup to the COLORS stage, FKJ collages together soft electronic pulses, light piano progressions, a gorgeous sax solo, and rock-infused guitar lines, before topping the composition off with soothing, falsetto-laden vocals. Watch the magic unfold above and be sure to listen to FKJ’s latest record V I N C E N T if you haven’t already.

Listen to FKJ new single Us, from his brand new album V I N C E N T:

FKJ is a virtuosic multi-instrumentalist and producer with one foot in the new world and one in the old, making soulful, limitless music for a restless, genre-fluid generation. His songs blur jazz, soul, folk, rock and experimental beats that combine intricacy and intimacy. V I N C E N T is FKJ’s second album and signals a new dawn where he realized he wanted to tap into the freedom of being a teenager again where he is making music strictly for playfulness and without overthinking. FKJ brings his fans on this journey as he rediscovers the lost innocence in his life and music with his album, V I N C E N T.
