Leeds based trio Gotts Street Park shares a new single with Pip Millett “Changes My Way”, ahead of a release of a new EP “Volume Two”

Leeds-based trio Gotts Street Park shares a new single with Pip Millett “Changes My Way”, ahead of a release of a new EP “Volume Two”. Their music fuse soul, hip-hop, r’n’b, and jazz, and this wonderful mix we can expect from the forthcoming record. “Changes My Way” is a slow tempo soul track with the beautiful, tender, and soothing voice of Pip Millett. Another great song after the last single “Everything” featuring Rosie Lowe, another classic in their catalog.

Gotts Street Park is like the modern-day in-house band, in the style of legendary studios like Stax in Memphis or Muscle Shoals in Alabama, where songs were created and recorded from scratch. They build their own studio, where they faithful to the old school recording process, often recording songs in one take to an analog tape. The band is continuing their own tradition of working with artists long before they’re household names, and on “Volume 2” EP we can hear stellar contributions from Grand Pax on “Sugar”, Zilo on “Bad” and Flikka on “Favourite Kind Of Girl”.

The Leeds-based trio features Josh Crocker on bass and production, Tom Henry on keys, and Joe Harris on guitar. They met through various music studies and friendship networks. Individually their tastes are diverse: from south Asian folk to experimental-jazz, soul to alternative hip-hop. Gotts Street Park collaborated already with Rejjie Snow, Kali Uchis, Cosima, Yellow Days, Chester Watson, Greentea Peng and Benny Mails, and most notably with Brits Rising Star award winner Celeste, with whom they recorded two tracks on her debut EP “Lately”.

Each time they keep their collaborative approach simple and organic: “We start off letting them have a blast of it, have a go of doing what they want to do. We don't try to tread on anyone's creativity in that initial instinctive stage,” says Tom. Josh picks up: “After that, just guide them when needs be. It’s all about giving them confidence.”
