Fresh Sounds: Frederic Robinson feat. Richard Spaven - Muscle Memory

Frederic Robinson unveils his new single Muscle Memory featuring world-renowned drummer Richard Spaven. The song is the second single taken from his upcoming EP Hiding Music In Everything due for a summer 2021 release. The EP is following ENGRAM from 2020, which receives great support from across the board. Richard Spaven brings his trademark subtle yet incredibly skillful and tasty playing to Frederic's intricate production. This is not the two musicians' first collaboration as Frederic co-produced a couple of tracks from Richard's last album Real Time.

Muscle Memory feels like the perfect fusion of what both Rich’s and my music is all about. It’s been a really exciting process getting all the elements together; from finding the right colors and textures for the instrumental to locking in one of Rich’s masterful grooves. I’m so proud of what we made here and I hope you feel the love that went into it!

After the release of his debut album Mixed Signals in 2013, Frederic was hailed as a "prodigy", with listeners drawing parallels between his intricate pattern work and the minimalism of composers such as Philipp Glass, Steve Reich and Terry Riley. Garnering support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Tom Middleton, BandCamp and Time Out to name a few, he went onto creating incredibly innovative live shows which he toured across Europe and supported acts such as Jon Hopkins and Tangerine Dream, to the delight of both music and technology fans.

His discography, while maintaining a consistent aesthetic throughout, retains an incredibly earnest and varied impression of writing and production styles, resulting in a collection of music that is as honest as it is diverse. Organic instrumentation combines with precise electronics and lush atmospheric production on a truly epic scale.
